Devon cap rebuild
This leaked like a sieve and the previous owners in it's life had tried, mastick, paint, silicon sealant, fibre glass and bitumen. Still leaked.


So .....
a new sheet of aluminium, painted in a special metals primer.
rubbed back the outer frame so no flaky stuff left and painted for weather protection.

put the two together to scribe the corners

clamped together

holes drilled for stainless steel m5's with nylocs

New non leaky roof.

The lifting struts were in a bad way with all the paint flaking off and rust everywhere.

took them apart, got them sandblasted. Re-painted and re-greased.

they look much better.

frame to stop bowing being attached using Tigerseal

the 3 wise men?....inspecting teh state of the roof surround prior to removing the funnel.

the funnel needs a few repairs the the firbreglass

lots of flakey rubbish, but not as bad as it could be
